Engagement is the quickest way to build a relationship with your target audience. If you take too long to respond that individual may move on to someone who will respond.  Don’t miss any opportunity to connect with a potential community member.  People buy from people they know, like and trust.  So let them get to know you. Give them a reason to like and trust you.

Provide Real Time Meaningful Customer Service
Another big trend on social media is customer service.  Customers are using inbox, direct messages and public post to voice their experience with companies of all sizes.  Unfortunately, people tend to be most vocal when they’re dissatisfaction than their satisfaction.  Make sure your antennas are up and respond swiftly to complaints and concerns.   The worst thing you can do is ignore it and act as if it will blow over with time.

Provide Value
Every day when you post on social media, think how can you provide value to your target audience.  How will the posting help them solve a problem or make life better?  Anything else is just frivolous posting.  Showcase your expertise in your specific audience and be generous with your knowledge.  When they know you know what you’re talking about the like process will begin.

Create a Brand Ambassador Rich Community
Brand ambassadors can provide the best marketing for your brand. They will go out and provide social proof for you.  You won’t even have to ask.  In order to build this type of community , you must do all of the above consistently.  To make your brand ambassadors go to work for you makes sure that you create ways for them to feel that they belong and reward them for their loyalty.  This can be done through giveaways, customer specials, and individualized customer care.
